Practical Course - Personalized coaching in small groups (12 CPD/FLA/CPE hrs)

Dry Needling Techniques is an introductory course designed for those with little or no previous experience. You’ll enjoy personal coaching of Dry Needling techniques to treat many common conditions and areas of pain.

One of the key skills you’ll learn on the practical course is becoming highly effective at finding trigger points in muscle fibres.

The best way to master Dry Needling therapy is to practice, practice, practice. But practice what?

Practice the correct way to hold the guide tube, manipulate the needle & experience what the needle feels like when it’s in the right location at the right depth and angle, to make you feel confident, safe & effective.

The insertion of a needle is generally painless when carried out correctly; you don't need to vigorously manipulate an acupuncture needle to get great results!

Having used Dry Needling for over 12 years & it never fails to amaze me how well patients respond to this therapy. It’s like magic.

Why not use Dry Needling therapy and save your hands?

Once you've completed your Dry Needling Techniques Intro course you’ll have a choice; use deep tissue massage that's painful for your patient & hard work on your hands; or place 3 acupuncture needles into the belly of the muscle for 5-7 minutes.

Then remove the needles & check the change in muscle tone - you’ll be amazed.

What's more, your patients will love it too!

"The dry needling course was great.

Very informative, yet concise with lots of hands on practice.

I now use dry needling almost every day in practice and find it a highly effective technique and a great adjunct to treatment.

My patients have found good relief after having dry needling therapy and are amazed at how well it works."

Dry Needling vs Acupuncture?

Dry Needling therapy began around the early 1900's but quickly developed as a useful and very safe treatment option for patients suffering from soft tissue pain and sports injuries.

Dry Needling is useful in relieving pain originating from many sources especially local muscle trigger points also known as Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrP's).

Placing an acupuncture needle into MTrP’s relieves pain. It causes release of endorphins, increases the blood supply to the region & causes relaxation of muscle fibres.

The diameter of an acupuncture needle is only around 250 mm or 10 x the diameter of a human hair. Despite this very narrow guage, placing a needle into skeletal muscle can disrupt up to 1000 muscle fibres. This disruption causes a normal physiological reaction by the body to repair the damaged tissue.

This process involves the immune, endocrine & cardiovascular systems & will occur with damage to muscle fibres that are not caused by an acupuncture needle. However, Dry Needling accelerates the body’s physiological response and natural repair mechanisms.

It should be noted that although many MTrP’s are found at the same sites as Acupuncture points, there is no relationship between Dry Needling therapy & Acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture treatment is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine paradigm & involves placing needles into acupoints.

Acupoints are points found along meridians or channels and is aimed at restoring harmony, balance & the flow of Qi (life force) through these channels.
